About Us
BRIEF HISTORY OF GARDNER GOURMET FOODS
Gardner Gourmet Foods was started by me, Sash Gardner, almost on accident. I've always loved cooking, and I'm especially fond of Mexican food. I tried and failed for months to make the perfect salsa. I kept at it and eventually came up with a winner. I shared it with family and friends and it was an instant hit! I then used my Mom's pork burrito recipe to come up with a savory variation of carnitas. Soon everyone urged me to take my business to the next level. So, after countless hours of preparation, in April 2010 I opened up a booth at Denio's Farmer's Market. I easily sold out all salsa and carnitas on the first day. I then presented my salsa to local grocery stores. They loved it and quickly made shelf space. It's been very successful at stores, and our goal is to supply it to chain store shelves.

MY ROOTS
I am a Sacramento native, raised here since I was 6 years old. I love this city and all of Northern California. I was raised by my wonderful mom Kim and was always in the kitchen helping her cook dinner. I really enjoyed it, and am grateful to have learned the lost art of cooking.
